FAQ

    1. For indoor PT cameras:
      When power on, camera will pan/tilt automatically, the red power light will turn on, green network light will blink; if you connect network cable, the small green light on RJ-45 will turn on, the orange light on RJ-45 will blink.
    2. For indoor fixed cameras:
      When power on, the red power light will turn on, green network light will blink, if you connect network cable, the small green light on RJ-45 will turn on, the orange light on RJ-45 will blink.
    3. For outdoor waterproof cameras:
      When power on and connect network cable, the small green light on RJ-45 will turn on, the orange light on RJ-45 will blink.
    4. For outdoor PT cameras:
      When power on and connect network cable, the lens inside the dome will pan/tilt automatically, the small green light on RJ-45 will turn on, the orange light on RJ-45 will blink.
  • When you power off the camera, all the information will be deleted automatically.

  • You can use backup & restore settings, click backup and store the current settings to computer before you restore factory settings, if you want to reload it, just choose the saved backup file and load all the settings.

  • Yes, all of our cameras support WEP, WPA and WPA2 encryptions.

  • Normally, camera cannot connect WiFi mainly due to wrong settings. Please check the following points:

    1. Check the antenna of the camera fixed well or not;
    2. When you click scan button, can the camera find WiFi signal around? (should find)
    3. When you set SSID for camera, please set it the same as SSID of your router;
    4. Wireless key should be the same with router’s wireless key;
    5. Whether disable mac address filter or not; (should disable, if you enable mac address filter, please add the camera’s wireless mac address in the allow list)
    6. Whether camera is too far from router? (In normal home environment, keep the distance not beyond 20m is better)

    Firstly, please check when you click scan button, camera can detect the WIFI signal or not. Normally, it need scan two or more than two times. If it can find, you can click the SSID of your router in the wireless list, then SSID, encryption will be filled in the following boxes automatically. It only need to enter the wireless key.

    Secondly, if the camera cannot scan router’s WIFI signal, please fill in SSID, encryption and wireless key manually to have a try.

    Lastly, if all the wireless settings have no problem, but the camera still cannot connect WIFI. Please try other encryptions, even without encryption to test; Put the camera near your router to test. If it still cannot connect, please contact our technical support engineer tech@foscam.com for further help.

  • It is impossible to achieve this, you need login these camera separately for its administrator settings.

  • Suitable Suitable for HD cameras with firmware 2.*.1.10 or above

    For Windows

    1. Click Start on your desktop, and go to Control Panel.

    3. Find the IPCWebComponents 3.0.0.1 in the list, right click to Uninstall it

    4. Congratulations, the plug in have been removed successfully.

    For Mac

    If you need to remove the plug-in from Safari, please open a Finder window.

    From the Finder menu bar click Go ---> Go to Folder

    Copy then paste the following:

    Library/Internet Plug-Ins

    Click Go then move to the Internet Plug-Ins.

    Or, hold on the Option key, click on "Library", go to "Internet Plug-Ins"

    Find the fsIPCam.bundle file, and delete it.

    Camera will prompt you to install the latest one when next logging.

    Note: Do not login your camera during the deleting, or the plug-in won't removed caused it is running.

    How to delete the plug-in for HD cameras with firmware before 2.x.1.10?

    Suitable Suitable for HD cameras with firmware before 2.*.1.10

    If the plug-in does not upgrade to the latest version after you finish the upgrading of the firmware. Please follow the instructions below to manually delete it first, then install the new version when next logging.

    1. Remove the plug-in from IE

    If you need to remove the plug-in from IE, please open an IE page.

    Go to Tools-->Manage Add-ons-->Show All add-ons-->then find the ocxIPcam Control, double click to remove it.

    Camera will prompt you to install the latest one when next logging.

    Note: Do not login your camera during the deleting, or the plug-in won't removed caused it is running.

    2. Remove the plug-in from Chrome

    If you need to remove the plug-in from Google Chrome, please open a new tab.

    Click Customize and Control Google Chrome, then go to Tools ---> Extensions.

    Find the IPCAM extension, and click the junk icon to remove it.

    Camera will prompt you to install the latest one when next logging.

    Note: Do not login your camera during the deleting, or the plug-in won't removed caused it is running.

    3. Remove the plug-in from Firefox

    If you need to remove the plug-in from Firefox, please open a new tab.

    Click the Firefox icon on the top right, then go to Add-ons.

    Find the npIpcam 2.0.1.x, and click the Remove button to delete it.

    Please follow a restart to take the change effect.

    Camera will prompt you to install the latest one when next logging.

    Note: Do not login your camera during the deleting, or the plug-in won't removed caused it is running.

    4. Remove the plug-in from Safari

    If you need to remove the plug-in from Safari, please open a Finder window.

    From the Finder menu bar click Go ---> Go to Folder

  • Step 1: Install Foscam Viewer

    Search Foscam Viewer in the App Store, download and install it on your iOS devices. Then you will see the shortcut icon on the device screen. Note: The publisher of the app should be ShenZhen Foscam Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.

    Step 2: Add Cameras in Foscam Viewer

    There is a help guide to walk you through when you logining it at the first time, please click Enjoy to enter the app. There are four ways to add cameras in IPC tab:

    1. Add Cameras in LAN
    2. Add Cameras by QR Code
      (We are going to introduce this method in this article)
    3. Add Cameras Manually
    4. Add the online dome

    Step 3:Tap the icon, your phone will go into QR code scanning mode. Scan the QR code on the bottom of your camera.

    Step 4: When you finish the QR code scanning, the app will pop-up device information page automatically. Please input the Device Name (used to distinguish the camera on your phone), the Username and Password (the default username: admin, no password by default), then click OK.

    Step 5: Click Back, it will be back to the IPC list page. Tap the camera you want to connect.

    Step 6: Modify the Username and Password. If you have already modified the Username and Password, you can do not perform this step.

    Step 7: Click OK, then click Video, you’ll be able to view the living video of your camera.

    Step 4: Click IPC back to the IPC list page, tap the camera you want to connect.

    Step 5: Input the Username and Password (the default username: admin, no password), then click save.

    Step 6: Modify the Username and Password. If you have already modified the Username and Password, you can do not perform this step.

    Step 7: Click OK, then click Video, you’ll be able to view the living video of your camera.
